Malaysia driving courseAfter registering with a driving school, you will have to go through several courses before you can pass the tests. These lessons are absolutely necessary if you want to get a good grasp of driving basic. Furthermore, a certain number of hours are compulsory in order to be allowed to take the exams. Before we delve into the details of the course that you will have to take, let’s first look at the different classes of driving licenses in the country.

The coursesThe process is virtually the same for all classes. The first course that you have to take consists of a 5-hour session that goes into the driving laws of the country. Once completed, you will be allowed to take a theory test. These courses are mostly done in Malaysia’s official language; Malay. However, most instructors are able to convey the contents of the course in English.After completing the theory and computer test, you will then have to take another course; basic car maintenance. This is where you will learn some of the most essential aspects of car maintenance. The list includes monitoring oil levels, how to change tires, and how to check fuses among many other basic tasks. This course takes around 3 hours and is necessary for obtaining your L certification. The next course that you have to take is the last and most important one; practical driving lessons. Before you can take the final test, you will have to go through a series of driving courses with your instructor. The lessons will take place on the open road and will mostly consist of basic driving maneuvers such as stop-starting, U-turns, and parallel parking just to name a few. These courses don’t have a set time limit and are finished once your instructor deems you qualified.

The costThe cost depends on the package that you pick. Generally speaking, the cost for an auto driver’s license is between RM1, 200 and RM2, 800 while a motorcycle package is typically priced at a much lower range. It is also worth noting that automatic car courses are slightly more expensive than manual ones.
